King Kornelius Interview!

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down and asking King Kornelius, a few questions about his career and recent work. We would like to thank him for taking the time to answer all of them. Let's get started shall we!

Your remix of “Yet Another Sax Thing” is plain genius. All of your recent productions have been so well put together, either with an awesome bassline or perfect synth work. Where does your inspiration come from to create these insane beats?

My inspiration.. is some times hard to find. But with so many awesome artists out there, sometimes its as simple as hearing a really well put together track. Something on a new level, that makes me wanna get to that same level. I often kind inspired by my desire to be the best.
You recently worked with JELO and Alex Kidd. Those are two huge names in the electronic music scene. JELO being a veteran since 96’ and Alex Kidd a huge force to recon with. How was working with such talent?

Working with JELO and Alex Kidd has been amazing. Alex Kidd and I networked and passed our collaboration back and forth. He created an awesome melody, I added to it, I created the bass drop, he added to it... great working with him. JELO has been awesome to me. He's been like my mentor. If i believed in god, it would be a blessing when some one like JELO comes and has provided me with so much information on the industry, and doesnt hesitate to give a helping hand when ever I am in need. Very appreciative of him.
Milk & Cookies has been doing really well on the beatport charts, for quite some time. How does it feel to have a song blowing up on a huge site like beatport?

It feels good to have a track go so high on the beatport charts. I will be honest tho, I strive for the best. I wont be completely satisfied til a track of mine hits number 1.

V.E.M.F. sounded like it went really well this year. How was playing in front of the home crowd?

Vemf was awesome. Probably one of the best shows i've done. I think my music went over well and i think everyone appreciated my 100 percent original set. I think King Kornelius was introduced to a lot of people in Victoria. And it was nice to have such a huge crowd in my home town.
Sorry to hear your Tiesto remix didn’t make it in the competition, huge fan of the remix. I have been listening to it steady for the last week. Any chance there will be a download for that?

There is a download for the Tiesto remix .. If anyone asks.. I didnt upload it.... it was some one else ...
DOWNLOAD HERE  (So good it was removed in one day!)
6)What’s next for the King!?

Whats next for King Kornelius. Well im workin on some collaborations with some pretty big artists at the moment including Frederik Olufsen, and Alex Mind, and others TBA. Very exciting. Constantly trying to study the future of electronic music. Always trying to stay on top of whats new and whats ahead. So, King Kornelius fans, be familiar with change... cause as the music evolves, so will I.... Other than that.. I gotta lot of new music comin out soon.. and im excited to see how well it does on the charts.

BONUS

Here is a few bangin' tracks to keep your heads ringing. Not all of them are new.. But all of them are necessary.

Dubstep track by Grixis! HUGE SOUND!

Peace Treaty - Change (Grixis Remix)

Up next is a song remixed by Revolvr which you may have heard but may not have known that Tiesto was dropping it in his sets all summer. If you weren't at his show in Nanaimo, two weeks back, you truly did miss out.

Beats Inside My Head (Donald Glaude & Revolvr Remix)

The new Excision EP "X Rated" was not amazing by any means *IMO. Although one song stood above the rest. Coincidently also titled X Rated. Messinian's voice is Hard as F**K.

Excision & Messinian - X Rated

Minnesota kills it straight up. And if you like Too Short you're going to love this.
