RAINMAN Due North Mixtape + Free Track!

Earlier today RAINMAN released his new mixtape on THEKNWLDG.com! This mix features tons of unreleased tunes as well as some awesome vocal work from Vic the North Star. Along with the release, they have decided to thank the community by giving away a free Drumstep track. Awesome original by the man from Van Island!

"This mix is inspired by the winter months to come. Packed with bangers of an eclectic range, this mix dives deep into the lairs of bass. It was done on 2 CDJ-850s a Xone:22 and CD’s and USB-drives.. Bam!. Redbull Skates the Mississippi!

Redbull's most recent Skateboarding project was sending a barge with a skate park on the surface down a river. WHAT!?. It flowed through 10 states and over 2500 miles. They were also hosting Jam Sessions in a few cities along the way. Top 2 skaters got to travel with the crew. Very cool idea!

Far From Silent #2

Wednesday is here and that means more tunes from Eh-StaTuZ. We got an "oldie but a goodie" from Alex Mind! Sunscream is the cover track from the "Suncream EP" released by Bazooka Records. This song is mellowed out with some catchy sounds, then suddenly he explodes our minds with that heavy heavy bass! Then we got one from BRUK & Marie L, their last release "Minds Gonna Blow" was stuck in my head for weeks, I think this will do the same. The pulses and tribal drums are gonna keep you in line with this next one. "Funka" by Aki Nair & Hanell, I haven't heard to much about these guys but this is awesome shit!

Tech/Minimal Tuesday #2

Whenever I post Tech House or Minimal, it's never our most popular post, I think this is because it doesn't have the "BAM" factor that Electro or Dub has or perhaps that the genre is a lot smaller in North America. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Electro & Dub music but I do think there is a time and place. When I'm slamming back a "2.6" with my buddy, give it to me! 12 beers deep, I want the basslines and wobble. Driving down the road with my buddies, I love it.
Since I've been back in school though, I've noticed that I can't listen to such heavy music, it distracts me from my work. I have noticed that the chill soothing beats of Tech and Minimal get me in a kind of "study trance".  So try out some of these songs and look for the catchy drums, subtle progression and some amazing piano/synth work.

Monday Morning Dubstep #2

Another installment of "Monday Morning Dubstep". Today we have a new remix by Centra, it's kind of a mix of D&B and Dub super sick! This was featured in Eh-StatuZ's "Far From Silent" but it deserved a re-post for sure.Brand new Calvertron remix of "We Don't Play That". This song is heavy on the pulsing lazer sounds as well as that original Calvertron grind! Has some really cool aztec sounding flutes as well. Here we go, I haven't heard "Time" in a while so here is yet another remix. This one is by Fytch and it's really good!

We Come, We Rave, We Love.

Genre-defining, boundary-pushing electronic juggernaut Swedish House Mafia have announced two historic, landmark ‘One Night Stand’ shows on both sides of the Atlantic as they will headline New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden on Friday, Dec. 16th, 2011 and the UK’s legendary 65,000 capacity Milton Keynes National Bowl on July 14th, 2012. These two milestone shows will see Swedish House Mafia – Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso – make history by becoming the first dance act to have headlined both venues. These shows, once again, reaffirm their status as global superstars.

IF YOU DON"T KNOW WHO THEY ARE,
DON"T COME. . .

CONSPIRATORS NEW TRACK + FALL TOUR!

THE CONSPIRATORS

"Conspirator" are a live Electro-House act from Philadelphia. In 2011, Conspirator has played at the country’s best electronic music festivals, such as Ultra Music Festival, Nocturnal Texas, Electric Forest, and Camp Bisco 10 alongside almost every major electronic artist in the game. In addition, the two founding members of the project wrapped up an 18 show run on the main stage of the inaugural IDENTITY FESTIVAL this last weekend at the Gorge in Seattle, having shared the stage all summer with Kaskade, Avicii, Rusko, Steve Aoki, Crystal Method, Bookashade, Pretty Lights, Skrillex and many more."

Earlier this week, the Conspirators released two new tracks exclusively with ThisSongIsSick earlier this week and let me say these two tracks are killer!
The first song is a remix of Avicii and Tim Berg's "Seek Bromance". This remix has been highly praised in the Electronic Dance Music scene. Using the originals songs traits so well but adding some very melodic synths as well as a heavier bass line. Pure Gold.

The second is a brand new Studio track called "Gypsy Lane" and this is some heavy shit! Had my head bumping the whole time! Hits us with some strong grinding bass beats and continues to build off that heavy sound. Get your hands on this kids!

The group will be kicking off their 2011 Fall Tour in Madison at the "Majestic Theater". The group welcomes KJ Sawka from "Pendulum" as their drummer for the first 6 shows of the tour, before passing the baton to Mike Greenfield from "Lotus" for the final two weeks of shows. So make sure you check out http://www.conspiratorband.com/ for all their tour dates! Look out for Conspirator as they blaze their trail across America on their second major tour in less than a year. As well, keep an eye out as they expect to continue to release new studio tracks via their SoundCloud throughout the tour.

King Kornelius Interview!

We recently had the pleasure of sitting down and asking King Kornelius, a few questions about his career and recent work. We would like to thank him for taking the time to answer all of them. Let's get started shall we!

Your remix of “Yet Another Sax Thing” is plain genius. All of your recent productions have been so well put together, either with an awesome bassline or perfect synth work. Where does your inspiration come from to create these insane beats?

My inspiration.. is some times hard to find. But with so many awesome artists out there, sometimes its as simple as hearing a really well put together track. Something on a new level, that makes me wanna get to that same level. I often kind inspired by my desire to be the best.
You recently worked with JELO and Alex Kidd. Those are two huge names in the electronic music scene. JELO being a veteran since 96’ and Alex Kidd a huge force to recon with. How was working with such talent?

Working with JELO and Alex Kidd has been amazing. Alex Kidd and I networked and passed our collaboration back and forth. He created an awesome melody, I added to it, I created the bass drop, he added to it... great working with him. JELO has been awesome to me. He's been like my mentor. If i believed in god, it would be a blessing when some one like JELO comes and has provided me with so much information on the industry, and doesnt hesitate to give a helping hand when ever I am in need. Very appreciative of him.
Milk & Cookies has been doing really well on the beatport charts, for quite some time. How does it feel to have a song blowing up on a huge site like beatport?

It feels good to have a track go so high on the beatport charts. I will be honest tho, I strive for the best. I wont be completely satisfied til a track of mine hits number 1.

V.E.M.F. sounded like it went really well this year. How was playing in front of the home crowd?

Vemf was awesome. Probably one of the best shows i've done. I think my music went over well and i think everyone appreciated my 100 percent original set. I think King Kornelius was introduced to a lot of people in Victoria. And it was nice to have such a huge crowd in my home town.
Sorry to hear your Tiesto remix didn’t make it in the competition, huge fan of the remix. I have been listening to it steady for the last week. Any chance there will be a download for that?

There is a download for the Tiesto remix .. If anyone asks.. I didnt upload it.... it was some one else ...
DOWNLOAD HERE  (So good it was removed in one day!)
6)What’s next for the King!?

Whats next for King Kornelius. Well im workin on some collaborations with some pretty big artists at the moment including Frederik Olufsen, and Alex Mind, and others TBA. Very exciting. Constantly trying to study the future of electronic music. Always trying to stay on top of whats new and whats ahead. So, King Kornelius fans, be familiar with change... cause as the music evolves, so will I.... Other than that.. I gotta lot of new music comin out soon.. and im excited to see how well it does on the charts.

BONUS

Here is a few bangin' tracks to keep your heads ringing. Not all of them are new.. But all of them are necessary.

Dubstep track by Grixis! HUGE SOUND!

Peace Treaty - Change (Grixis Remix)

Up next is a song remixed by Revolvr which you may have heard but may not have known that Tiesto was dropping it in his sets all summer. If you weren't at his show in Nanaimo, two weeks back, you truly did miss out.

Beats Inside My Head (Donald Glaude & Revolvr Remix)

The new Excision EP "X Rated" was not amazing by any means *IMO. Although one song stood above the rest. Coincidently also titled X Rated. Messinian's voice is Hard as F**K.

Excision & Messinian - X Rated

Minnesota kills it straight up. And if you like Too Short you're going to love this.
