Mat The Alien

While ENVƎ was making moves in Whistler this past season, we had the pleasure of seeing Mat The Alien perform almost every week. He is a world renowned DJ speciallizing in Dubstep with plenty of respect on the world stage. He's voted #1 in Western Canada and has been a Shambala headliner. He also holds a residency at Maxx Fish in Whistler, where he hosts "REALLY GOOD" (dubstep) Tuesdays.  

At Maxx he played alongside the likes of: Downlink, Ajapai, Borgore and ZEDS DEAD just to name a few. Even DC and Hooks from Zeds Dead had their jaws just about hit the floor while Mat was rippin' his last track of the night back in February. He is known for his beat juggling and pristine scratching, which makes for an out of this world set.

On May 14 he will be headlining our next show in Nanaimo, so be sure not to miss out. All the info you need is on our Facebook Event Page.

Nightglows

Nightglows is the Duo of Luyolo Leo Makalima and Yibanathi Tsolekile. They started out in 2009 and after a short 11 months of producing the pair got signed by Seed Recordings. Their tracks include Deep House, Tech, Progressive and some Experimental Electronica. Nightglows is definitely good music for a chill sesh. Look out for their new EP titled "Flexy" said to be released on the german label "Butterbleep Records" in early summer.

SubVibe

SubVibe has released 2 new songs over the last 2 weeks, and both of them are killer. Firstly the British duo have dropped their remix of  "Monster" by Dj Russ P. This remix is a face melter for sure. Using the awesome vocals, done by MK, perfectly in this dirty dub style. Secondly Subvibe and Fuzion came together to produce an unreal original. With trancy synths and percussion beginning the track is quickly changes to an evil, disgusting dubstep banger'. If you are a fan of copious amounts of filthy bass and that classic UK feel, you will enjoy.

BAR9 in NANAIMO

BAR9 is one of the biggest names in Dubstep right now. His most well known tracks include his remixes of "Keep The Fire" and "Spanish Sahara" which are below, these tracks are epic let me just say that. Coming from the UK his sounds have that classic british dub sound, whch everybody can enjoy. Jack Beats just dropped his latest banger' "Elevator Music" a couple days ago on Cheap Thrills Records. This song is crazy, literally, a classic Jack Beats track.It's not what you would think when   "Elevator Music" pops into your head, but it deffinetly should be.

I stumbled across this track called "Bosques" and original by Japan's own Kan Takahiko. The track was released on TCY Recordings and the track is kind of something i've never really heard. A track filled with weird vocals, a catchy amazonian drum line and some awesome progression. Check it out.
