Hello La Niña
The 2010/11 season is here and everyone is hyped. This being because of the La Niña weather pattern. La Niña is caused by the Pacific Ocean being significantly lower and a loss of heat from the top layer of the Ocean. This causes the later months of fall and earlier months of winter to be a "little" colder than usual. In 1998/99 season, the last time La Niña occurred, multiple snow records were broken in the North West. Whistler/Blackcomb got over 1700 cm that year. So enough book learnin’ for the day, let’s get those shred sticks waxed, boots laced, and pick up some long johns and an AIR HOLE face mask if you haven’t yet, it’s going to be a cold one.
