ENVƎ Presents: Felix Cartal in Nanaimo (feat RAINMAN and Neon Steve)

If you haven't heard the HUGE news yet, then here it is, ENVƎ presents "Felix Cartal's Birthday Bash" at Beban Auditorium, April 9th. This show is going to be 18+ so all you underage fans can come and enjoy a sick night as well. The show will be from 7pm till 12am and tickets are only $20 so I wanna see everyone out that night.

Opening up the show will be Victoria's Neon Steve and our boy Rainman will be back from the east coast to do his thing. 

And the main event  Felix Cartal will be blowin' the place up, hitting the floor with bangerz and setting the ladies off because it's his BIRTHDAY that night so it's gonna be a wild night. Get ready for an awesome night of music on Vancouver Island.

In a world of heavy, hard-hitting bangers, Cartal is developing music of this genre into a more complex and theoretical form, revolutionizing the way dance music is created.

Whether it be his fresh face, fresh beats or fresh attire, it's hard not to notice NEON STEVE. Hailing from Victoria BC on Vancouver Island, Steve is quickly making his mark as one of the West Coast's top DJ's/Producers.

RAINMAN is one of the most innovative and diverse young producer and DJs around. Currently based in Ottawa attending Carleton University, he’s the resident DJ for Ritual Nightclub’s monthly DUBSMACK!  His production ranges anywhere from progressive house to filthy dubstep, hitting highs and lows all across the electronic music spectrum.

When I saw Zeds Dead at Sugar in Victoria they played a track called "1975" and it really blew the place up. With awesome vocals, catchy piano riffs and a classic Zeds Dead drop, this song has it all. If you haven't heard the song then i suggest taking a few minutes out of your day. 

The song has been leaked for a while now and it was also used for their 2010/11 tour promotional video, so there is a chance you might have heard it. If so then enjoy the song over a video of "Irina Shayk" Cristiano Ronaldo's lady and holy BABE. It's the perfect music video.

Dieselboy - UNLEASHED

Dieselboy's mixes were just the thing to turn heads to the Drum & Bass scene in it's earlier years. From his "Drum and Bass Selection USA" in 96' or Substance D" in 2008. Dieselboy has been around a "few" years and understands mixing. This mix is packed with 56 tracks in a 73 minute mix. You would think it would be an over layered mess but the mix is so well blended and is packed with current and classic Dub/Drum&Bass. The last 25 minutes showcases Dieselboy's new sound and new releases from dubstep label, Subhuman.

What a fantastic weekend! I got to see Jamie Van Goulden while he was in Nanaimo and does this guy ever put on a show. From bringing it down slow and then just " hit'em with a banger!" Jamie put the club on a Dance Journey. If you get a chance to see Mr. Van Goulden then i would suggest doing so, he throws an awesome show.

 

Ok blog time. Tuffem Up! records is getting shit done in 2011 with the release of 7 EP's coming this year. New tracks from Nadisko, Antention and Barretso and many more. Lobster Snowboards

If you follow the Helgason brothers or watched X-Games 15, you may have noticed Halldor throwing down on a board called the "Lobster".  Lobster is actually the brand the two Icelandic brothers are creating. The boards are going to be equipped with Triple Base Technology in three styles of board: Jib Board, Park Board and Girl Board. Also coming with the release of the boards in Fall 2011 will be an Eiki Jib Board and Halldor Park Board with custom graphics.

Here's a vid of the Halldor's first day on the LOBSTER! X-games was a pretty big envent to be doing test runs.
