This whole year it seems like remixes of "Levels" are the popular thing to be doing. The melodies of Avicii's masterpiece make it the perfect song and it just keeps popping up on blogs. From the Skrillex remis to the Mathew Sterling remix they are all amazing in their own way.This remix though is by far one of my favorites. I swear this will be the last Levels remix I post. Promise.

I found this track about two months ago and I was instantly hooked. Now I've grown somewhat tired of the original but I'm in luck! "Somebody That I Used To Know" is being played on almost every radio station and has gained momentum and the attention of some pretty big names in EDM. One of the latest remixes is by LAZRtag. I think of all the remixes I've heard, they have done the best job. Keeping the chill factor of the original but adding a more party style to the track. Big Room synths and catchy popping lazers fill in this ultimate remix.

Probe - Baila

Plasmapool Records producer Probe has just relased his newest single "Baila". Baila is a form of dance which orginated in Sri Lanka and was produced when three different origins were forced to live together (Portuguese, African and the Native Sinhalese people).There musics and different styles of dance didn't always work well together but after some time, one of the first forms of House music was created.

Brand new Moombahton banger' from 'Delta Heavy'. Nero, is set to release their brand new album ‘Must Be The Feeling’ which will be a two track EP with "Innocence". The album will be available March 5th. Ahead of the release of the single, they have called in Ram Records duo Delta Heavy on remix duties, and they proved their duties well and killed this Moombahton remix! I'm stoked to hear the original as well, perfect little teaser from Delta Heavy. Good work boys.

New rockin remix from R3hab. Fadil has taken this remix over to the "Dutch Side". Repetive horns are interlaced with Lil Wayne's freestyle vocals. Porcelain Black aka Alaina Marie Beaton was born and raised in Michigan. Her heavy rock like voice has helped put this song to the top of the charts. . .I'm sure Weezy helped out a little.

First remix I heard of this song was by the mysterious producer Gemini. I thought nothing would top it. . .until now. Aluna George took this song in a totally different direction then Thomas Slinger (aka Gemini). Staying away from the up-beat D&B style and totally mellowing this jam out. LOVE IT.

Spin Magazine gave away a huge tune yesterday from Rusko and Cypress Hill, this comes along with an announcement of an album from the two completely different groups. The album is said to be released on March 27th and is going to be ground breaking. Well at least that's my opinion. We have the first track off the album for you. Right off the bat Rusko is hitting us with the heavy bass which goes perfectly with the horse Cypress vocals.

I've been looking forward to this release for some time now. I didn't even know Sigma was doing a remix, so it makes the release twice as sweet. The original is classic Rusko! Melodic game-like synths at the end are exquisite.

When "Original Don" was released I felt it was either a Love or Hate relationship with the song. For me, I personally Loved it, a song that can portray 3 different genres and be a catchy as this tune gets an A+ in my books. I recently found this Flosstradamus Remix and it takes Original Don and makes him over into the Original OG. Slowed down heavy hip-hip style beats work perfectly.

12th Planet has been taunting us with his Free Five Track Ep for quite sometime and it was finally released a few days ago! The EP is presented by Scion A/V who has been pushing itself into the Electronic Music Scene. Scion also released Skream & Benga's EP a few months ago which shows they mean business.

12th Planet pairs up with some of the biggest names in EDM. He brings together the LA Team ortherwise known as the Mothership Squad together for a couple of the tracks as well as SPL and Antiserum.

Dropping on January 24th "Somebody To Love" is going to be a huge hit. Rusko just finished wrapping up his fall/winter tour and I guess he has been working on this little gem while he was touring. The music video uses footage from all his shows and gives you an idea of the energy Chritopher Mercer has on stage. Rusko was by far one of the dopest artist I saw last year and I think I've found somebody to love. . .R-U-S-K-O!

HeavyDevy & Lanky Skankz

Our buddy Heavy Devy just sent over 2 tracks him and his buddy Lanky Shankz' have been working on. The first is a Dubstep track that is going harder then ever. Now, the second track has got my approval for sure. A Moombahton track which steals samples and the name of one of my favorite movies "Pineapple Express". 

Heavy Devy hails from Powell River, B.C. and has been DJing for about three years and producing for only a short time. Devy has played at many shows at local house parties, the UVic campus bar and a few secret locations for multiple raves. Devy has shared the stage with the likes of Upchuck Mike, West Wes and many more.

Lanky Skankz' has been producing for 2 years and comes from Victoria B.C. He also works with his buddy under the alias "Da Livin Bassheadz". Make sure you check out Lanky's Soundcloud for more good music.

What a week! Adventure Club was at Spice Lounge this past Wednesday and put on one hell of a show. Their performance was packed with so much energy and some of their best work. The next night we were privileged enough to get invited down to Touch Lounge to see their show in Victoria. Once again the boys put on a crazy show and really seemed to get the crowd going! 

  

Alright, Butch Clancy is one of my favorite producers right now but unfortunately he hasn't released very much music lately. That may be because his computer crashed causing him to lose all his work! Even though this is a huge tragedy/set-back, maybe it was for the better, cause it let him produce one of the sickest Dubstep jams I've heard in a while. "Hard Eight" is gonna be a big one for Butch. Enjoy.

Figure's "The Werewolf" was by far one of my favorite songs this past year. Such a dirty noise brought together by some awesome rolling percussion. The Bass Machines from Ottawa just put together one of the sickest re-works I've heard in a long time, pulling together all the major assets from the original but building a completely new sound. gLAdiator glitches his way into this bass heavy remix with some deep grindings basslines and some banging build-ups. I'm thinking that there should be an official remix package put together for "Bangarang". A lot of good productions could come from the idea.

We were having beers a few nights prior to New Years and I was talking with Las Vegas producer "Revolvr" and a few other partners from ENVE. We were discussing the Mord and where the F*&# he came from. His profile picture seems to be a few different people so it makes it hard to figure out who this kid is. A few of us thought perhaps he is Myles Dyson in disguise. . .or maybe a collaboration of a few different artists that exploded into more than they could handle. Who or what ever he is. . ."It's" creating unreal music, so enjoy this synthesized masterpiece. I also included Sound Remedy's take on it.

Look out for Mord Fustang coming to Nanaimo in the months to come. Perhaps we can figure out this mystery.

Bangarang Bonus - Varien's Orchestral Suite

With only a couple of official releases under his belt Varien has managed to team up with Skrillex right out of the gate! His orchestral rendition below was added last minute as a bonus track on Skrillex’s Bangarang EP. We posted the full EP a few days ago but I forgot to pass this one on to you guys, so here it is.

The kid has mad potential, obviously if Sonny himself notices him. Im sensing a future relationship with Sonny, so that spells everything good for Varien.
